To calculate the overall and domain-wise scores of AEA campuses based on the 2019 accountability model, we need additional data from you. You will be able to enter this data on our site by late July 2019. Until then, the projected scores of AEA campuses should be considered preliminary.
Campuses, sometimes the entire district and charters in TX are self-proclaimed Alternative Education Campus (AEC). Most times these are campuses that have a high "at-risk" enrollment, residential facilities, juvenile centers, dropout recovery schools, etc. Such campuses can apply to be evaluated using special provisions of the accountability model.
However, not all AECs qualify to be evaluated using these procedures. There is an approval process each year and TEA publishes the list of AECs that qualify to be an AEA (Alternative Education Accountability) campus. Roughly about 5% of campuses in TX are evaluated using AEA procedures.
Only check this box if in fact your campus has been AEA approved.
There are some specific circumstances like data integrity issues, insufficient data, natural calamities, etc, in which a campus/district does not receive a rating label. Such campuses and districts are given the label "Not Rated". They are evaluated using regular accountability procedures, but they are not given rating labels. As an example, in 2018 Houston ISD was given the label "Not Rated" because of hurricane Harvey
Only if the campus(es) have been evaluated and given a Not Rated label, should the checkbox be selected.
