Teachers can send SchoolCity assessment results to their district's Student Information System (SIS) from the SchoolCity application.
This article will review how to push scores for SchoolCity-administered assessments to the SIS class gradebook.
Step 1: Find the assessment in Reports and click on Push to Gradebook button
To push the scores of a SchoolCity assessment to one or more of your SIS class gradebooks, go to the Reports module in SchoolCity and view the results of the assessment. In the Test Results tab of the Reports, you will see a Push to Gradebook button.
On clicking the Push to Gradebook button, Push Scores to Gradebook screen as shown below will appear.
Step 2: Check the settings for the assessment in the Gradebook
On the Push Scores to Gradebook screen, review the following settings and update as appropriate:
- Name for the Assessment in the Gradebook
- Total Points Possible for the Assessment in the Gradebook
- Assessment Due Date in the Gradebook
These assessment settings will be sent along with the scores of your students to SIS class gradebook(s). You can edit the above mentioned details at this stage. Note that any changes you do on this screen will not change the name, total points possible and due date of the assessment in SchoolCity.
Step 3: Select Grading Category for all classes
Select the Grading Category for all classes that took this assessment. The grading categories that you see when you click the dropdown are the same as the grading categories for the class’ gradebook in SIS.
You will need to select the grading category for a class before you can push the scores of the students of that class to SIS gradebook. Further, you cannot change the grading category from SchoolCity application after you push the scores.
Step 4: Select classes and push scores to SIS class gradebooks
Select the classes using the checkboxes as shown below. You will be able to push the scores of only those classes that have student scores available. Click on the Push Scores button once you are ready to push scores.
Next, click on the Push Scores Now button in the pop-up that appears. At this stage, you may also cancel the push, save the changes you have made and exit the screen.
You can push the scores of your students as many times as you want and every time you push scores to the gradebook we send the data of all the students. In this way, if scores of the students changed in SchoolCity after you pushed the last time, all the scores will be synced with SIS when you push the scores again.
Step 5: Look for the notification and check the history of the pushes to SIS
Once you have pushed the scores, you will see a message in a notification that appears to the bottom left of the screen.
You may also view the history of the push to gradebook by clicking on the History button in the bottom left corner of the screen. In the popup that appears when you view the History, you will also see the statuses of all the pushes you have made.
