This lesson reviews how to enable permissions in SchoolCity for the TXPRO app to District and School users. These permissions must be enabled for users in order to log into TXPRO.
Only the school districts in Texas will use the TXPRO application.
Before You Begin
Required Permission: Admin Role
This lesson assumes the admin user knows how to create and edit user roles. To learn more about editing default role permissions and creating custom user roles, view the documentation on the Roles Tab.
Where to Start
- Select the Launchpad down arrow.
- Select Admin from the dropdown menu.
- Select Roles.
- Select Create New Role OR Edit an existing role.
Only District, Network, and School level roles can be given TXPRO permissions. Teacher level roles cannot be given TXPRO permissions.
District Role TXPRO Permissions
- Ensure that the new role or role being edited has a District or Network Access Level.
- Select the External Apps tab.
- Select the TXPRO View permission checkbox to enable View permissions.
- View permissions allow users to see and access the TXPRO app from SchoolCity, and to view the Overview, Student Achievement, School Progress, Closing the Gaps, and Campus Comparison tabs within TXPRO.
- Select the TXPRO Data Upload permission checkbox to enable Data Upload permissions.
- Data Upload permissions automatically enable the View permissions, and also grant access to the TXPRO Settings menu, including the Data Upload, Upload History, CCMR & Graduation Data Entry, Configure Campuses, Configure Projections, and Permissions pages.
- While the Data Upload permission grants access to the Settings menu and the ability to upload data, the Recalculate Now feature is not included.
- Select the TXPRO Recalculate checkbox to enable Recalculate permissions.
- Recalculate permissions automatically enable the View and Data Upload permissions, and also grant access to the Recalculate Now feature.
- Select Save.
Regardless of the level of TXPRO permissions given, the data visible in TXPRO visualizations depends on the user role's district, site, and student view permissions.
School Role TXPRO Permissions
- Ensure that the new role or role being edited has the School Access Level.
- Select the External Apps tab.
- Select the TXPRO View School Projections permission checkbox.
- View School Projections permissions allow users to see and access the TXPRO app from SchoolCity, and to view the Overview, Student Achievement, School Progress, Closing the Gaps, and Campus Comparison tabs within TXPRO.
- Users with this permission will be able to see TXPRO visualizations of school-level data, but not district-level data.
- Select the TXPRO View District Projections permission checkbox.
- View District Projections permissions automatically enable the View School Projections permissions, and also give users the ability to view district-level data in TXPRO visualizations.
- Select Save.
Regardless of the level of TXPRO permissions given, the data visible in TXPRO visualizations depends on the user role's district, site, and student view permissions.
