This lesson explores the TXPRO Student Achievement tab. This page provides data, visuals, and calculation information regarding Domain 1: Student Achievement, and the related projected scores.
Based on the 2023 refresh, district domain ratings are calculated using a proportionality method. The campus weight determines how much a campus grade proportionally impacts the district rating. This methodology only considers campus enrollment counts for grades 3–12, excludes Not Rated and paired campuses, is applied to each domain, and includes campuses evaluated under alternative education accountability. This change has been reflected within the application, so that districts can determine what contribution each campus made towards calculations for each domain.

Where to Start
- Select the Student Achievement tab.
- Select the desired District/Campus and Accountability Year to view Student Achievement data for.
The District/Campus and Accountability Year options can be changed at any time while viewing the Student Achievement page to compare and contrast data from different sites and academic years.
District View
When the District is selected, only the Domain 1: Student Achievement Score visual displays. The District does not receive its own individualized score, but is scored based on the cumulative scores of the included Campuses, as portrayed in the Calculation table.
When the District is selected, only the Domain 1: Student Achievement Score visual appears. This displays a donut chart of the overall projected score for Domain 1 for the entire district, including the projected rating, numeric score out of 100, and threshold level and color.
- To learn more about how the projected Domain 1 score is determined, select How was the Domain 1 score calculated?
Calculation
- The Calculation tab is automatically selected.
The Student Achievement score is calculated from up to three different data components, if they are provided, including STAAR, CCMR, and Graduation Rate data. Each contributing Campus is listed, along with its Scaled Score, the weighting percentage, and the resultant Weighted Points.
Methodology
- Select the Methodology tab to view the reasoning behind the Calculation table.
Elementary and Middle Schools
- The STAAR Component scaled score is the Student Achievement score.
High Schools/K-12s
- The STAAR Component scaled score is weighted at 40%, the CCMR Component scaled score is weighed at 40%, and the Graduation Rate Component scaled score is weighed at 20%. For campuses lacking the Graduation Rate component, the STAAR Component scaled score is weighted at 50% and the CCMR Component scaled score is weighed at 50%. For campuses lacking both CCMR and Graduation Rate components, the STAAR Component scaled score is the Student Achievement score.

Campus View
When a Campus is selected, the Domain 1: Student Achievement Score, Component Scores of Domain 1, STAAR Component Score, CCMR Component Score, and Graduation Rate Component Score visuals display, provided that the relevant data has been uploaded for that Campus.
The first visual displayed on the Student Achievement page is Domain 1: Student Achievement Score. This displays a donut chart of the overall projected score for Domain 1, including the projected rating, numeric score out of 100, and threshold level and color.
Scaled Scores are extrapolated from the given Raw Scores, which are weighted, and combined to produce the Student Achievement Score and Projected Rating.
Districts
- District domain ratings are calculated using a proportionality method. The campus weight determines how much a campus grade proportionally impacts the district rating. This methodology only considers campus enrollment counts for grades 3-12, excludes Not Rated and paired campuses, is applied to each domain, and includes campuses evaluated under alternative education accountability.
The second visual displayed on the Student Achievement page is Component Scores of Domain 1. This displays a bar chart of each component score that makes up Domain 1, including STAAR, CCMR, and Graduation Rate, if data has been uploaded for each. If scores are not available or are null for a component, then that component will not be shown on the chart.
Scaled Scores
- The Scaled Scores tab is automatically selected.
- Hover the cursor over any of the chart bars to view a text popup of the component and the score represented.
Raw Scores
- Select the Raw Scores tab to view a bar chart of the Raw Scores for each Component.
The third visual displayed on the Student Achievement page is the STAAR Component Score card, which is based on answering the question, "How are the students performing on STAAR tests?" This displays a donut chart of the STAAR Component Score, including a numeric score out of 100, and the criteria for how that score is calculated.
If the score is not available or is null for this component, this card will not display.
Overview
- The Overview tab is automatically selected.
- An explanation of how the STAAR Component Score is calculated is provided.
- The STAAR Component score of the Student Achievement domain is calculated based on students' level of performance at Approaches Grade Level or above, Meets Grade Level or above, and Masters Grade Level.
- Raw STAAR Component score is calculated by dividing the total points from the three performance levels by three. The raw STAAR Component score is adjusted to a scaled score, and this score is used to determine the accountability score.
Score Computation
- Select the Score Computation tab to view a table displaying the STAAR Performance data used to determine the STAAR Component Score, computed into percentages, the raw score, and the final scaled score.
The fourth visual displayed on the Student Achievement page is the CCMR Component Score card, which is based on answering the question, "Are students prepared for success after high school?" This displays a donut chart of the CCMR Component Score, including a numeric score out of 100, and the criteria for how that score is calculated.
If the score is not available or is null for this component, this card will not display.
Overview
- The Overview tab is automatically selected.
- An explanation of how the CCMR Component Score is calculated is provided.
- The CCMR Component score of the Student Achievement domain measures graduates' preparedness for college, the workforce, or the military.
- Raw CCMR Component score is calculated by dividing the total points of CCMR graduates by the number of annual graduates. The raw CCMR Component score is adjusted to a scaled score, and this score is used to determine the accountability score.
Score Computation
- Select the Score Computation tab to view a table displaying the CCMR Rate data used to determine the CCMR Component Score, computed into the raw score and the final scaled score.
The fifth visual displayed on the Student Achievement page is the Graduation Rate Component Score card, which is based on answering the question, "Did the students graduate in time?" This displays a donut chart of the Graduation Rate Component Score, including a numeric score out of 100, and the criteria for how that score is calculated.
When Graduation Rates of all three years are not available, then Dropout Rate is used. If the score is not available or is null for this component, this card will not display.
Overview
- The Overview tab is automatically selected.
- An explanation of how the Graduation Rate Component Score is calculated is provided.
- The Graduation Rate Component score of the Student Achievement domain gives credit to schools/districts with students who graduate.
- The 4-year, 5-year, and 6-year graduation rates or the annual drop out rate is used to calculate the Graduation Rate Component score. The maximum of the three graduation rates is the Graduation Rate Component score. The raw Graduation Rate Component score is adjusted to a scaled score, and this score is used to determine the accountability score.
Score Computation
- Select the Score Computation tab to view a table displaying the Graduation Rate data used to determine the Graduation Rate Component Score, computed into 4-year, 5-year, and 6-year percentages, the raw score, and the final scaled score.
