District administrators (ADMIN role) have the ability to manage parent accounts by using the Parent Portal Manager. Other Teacher, School, or District Users may also be granted permission to manage parent accounts as needed.
- From the Grid, select the Parent Portal icon.
- Roster year. Click on the down arrow to view the roster from a different school year.
- Search functions: Search for students or parents by Year, Grade, School, and/or Status. Click Refresh to view results.
- View Accounts: By Student, By Parent, and Challenges. Admin Users will have all three. Depending on permissions, other Users may have not have the Challenges tab.
- Status Key: Challenged, Declined, New, and Validated.
- Challenged: An account request may be challenged by a User with permission to “Challenge”. A challenge might occur if the parent information does not match the student information on file. The account must be confirmed by a School or District User with permission to Validate or Decline a challenge.
- Declined: An account request may be denied by a User with permission to “Decline”. A declined account may be reviewed by a School or District User with permission to Validate or Challenge.
- New: This is an account request that has not yet been reviewed by a Teacher, School, or District User with permission to Validate, Challenge, or Decline the request.
- Validated: This is an account that has been approved by a Teacher, School, or District User with permission to “Validate”. The parent is able to log in and view test results for their student.
View Accounts
- View Parent accounts by student.
- Student ID number and name, grade, and date of birth.
- Parent(s) with current status.
- This view may be exported to PDF, Excel, or CSV.
- View Parent accounts by Parent.
- Parent will be listed by name with an email address.
- Student(s) associated with the parent account, along with the parent’s current status.
- This view may be exported to PDF, Excel, or CSV.
- View Challenges. View Parent accounts that have been “Challenged”.
- Parents will be listed by name with their email address.
- The associated student(s), and Challenged status also displays.
Only School or District Users with permission to manage Challenges will have this view.
Parent Status Details
Each of the status icons can be selected in order to view the details of the parent account.
- New Request: Click on the blue New status icon next to a parent’s name in the By Students tab or next to the student’s name in the By Parents tab to view a new Parent Portal Request. Notice that this request has yet to be Validated, Challenged, or Declined by a Teacher, School or District User with permission to do so.
- Validated Account: Click on the green Validated status icon next to a parent’s name in the By Students tab or next to the student’s name in the By Parents tab view the account details. Notice that this account can be Challenged or Declined by a School or District User with permission to do so.
- Challenged Account: Click on the orange Challenge status icon next to a parent’s name in the By Students tab or next to the student’s name in the By Parents tab to view the account details. Status notes indicate the issue with this request. Notice that this account can be Validated or Declined by a School or District User with permission to do so.
- Declined Account: Click on the red Declined status icon next to a parent’s name in the By Students tab or next to the student’s name in the By Parents tab to view the account details. Status notes indicate the reason for the decline. Notice that this account can be Validated or Challenged by a School or District User with permission to do so.
