After completing the Performance Based Assessment > Assessment Info screen, if the option to include standards and/or objectives has not been selected, users proceed to Performance Levels (if a user opts to add standards or objectives to their assessment, those setup screens will precede Performance Levels).
This article will review the performance level setup process.
Performance Levels (No Objectives)
Performance levels help staff members to interpret assessment data results in reports. If available, you can use an existing Performance Level template, or customize performance levels as desired.
-
Load from Available Templates: Click to use a template previously uploaded into SchoolCity by the District Template Manager, as determined by permission from the district administrator.
-
Add Performance Level Sets - Click to include up to two additional performance level sets. For example, one set may be by performance descriptors and one set may be by alphabetical grades. A maximum of three Performance Level sets can be created for an assessment. A minimum of two sets are needed to enable this feature. If multiple Performance Level Sets are added to an assessment, users can toggle between the different sets while viewing results in the SchoolCity Report Manager.
-
Skip Performance Levels - Click here if you do not want to add performance levels. A message will appear confirming this action. Click OK to go to the next step.
-
Add Performance Level - Click this button if you prefer to manually create your own Performance Levels instead of using an existing template. Each button click creates a Performance Level row. Add the number of of levels you wish to create.
- Label (or number) your levels from lowest to highest
- Describe each level
- Indicate which level is the threshold for proficient
- Assign each level a color code
- Determine percentages if setup is by Percentage, or determine cut points if setup is by Cut Points.
Performance Levels (with Objectives)
If you indicated Yes for Performance Levels for each of your assessment Objectives in the previous step, you must assign them in this step.
-
Overall: An Overall Score can be given for your assessment as each objective has the same Score Label (Raw Score) and Score Type (Numeric). Performance Levels can be assigned to the Overall assessment score as well as for each objective, listed as a tab in the Performance Levels screen. Click the Objective tab label one at a time to assign Performance Levels.
