Once assessment results have been uploaded through file upload, scanning, GradeCamâ„¢, or online administration, the data can be viewed in a variety of ways. One of the Predefined Reports is the Demographics Profile, which displays assessment data by demographic group of the test takers for the selected assessment. Results may be viewed by Performance Levels, by Proficient/Not Proficient, or by Performance Bands.
Where to Start
- From the Launchpad down arrow, select Reports.
- In the Report Manager, the list of Predefined reports will show underneath the Predefined tab.
- Select the Demographics Profile name in blue, or select the view icon to the far right to go to the Demographics Profile report. Note the descriptor statement for this report.
The Demographics Profile Report displays assessment data by demographic group of the test takers for the selected assessment. This report includes number of students in each demographic group, as well as the percentage that falls into each Performance Level.
Demographics Profile Report
- Select the Roster down arrow to change the Year and Roster filters.
- Select the Assessment down arrow to change the assessment filters.
- Select PRA to access the Personalized Review Assignment content for the selected assessment.
- Select the desired Search Filters and select Refresh to apply.
- Select Filter Students to apply further student filters.
- Select Full Screen to view the report in full screen.
- Select the Download icon to download the report in PDF, Excel, or CSV format.
- Select the desired grouping view:
- Summary - This is the default view. All user roles can access the Summary view.
- By School - Only district users can view By School.
- By Grade - Only district and school users can view By Grade.
- By Teacher - Only district and school users can view By Teacher.
- Select the desired threshold view:
- By Performance Levels - This is the default view. The Performance Level descriptors, cut points or percentages, and color coding are set by the assessment creator and/or district template.
- Proficient/Not Proficient - The Proficient/Not Proficient threshold is determined by the Standards Mastery Threshold. The Standards Mastery Threshold and color coding are set in District Defaults or My Preferences.
- By Performance Bands - The Performance Bands are customizable percentage ranges that can be set and changed by the user viewing the report on the fly.
- Use the Profile Groups to Display dropdown to select the desired demographic groups. Available Profile Groups will vary depending on the district Student Information System and the created district Templates. Select Refresh to apply.
- View the report data, which displays according to the filters and view options that have been set. Select any blue link text in the report to view a popup window with the list of students that fall within the selected statistic.
Select the Assessment Name to view an online preview of the assessment.
View by Summary, School, Grade, or Teacher
The Summary view is automatically selected when viewing the Demographics Profile report, as all user roles have access to view this data. Each selected Profile Group will display under its own heading, with each subgroup listed underneath. These demographic subgroups display the number and percentage of students tested, average raw score, average percent correct, and the number and percent of students in each performance category, dependent on the selected threshold view. Select any blue link text to view the list of students that make up the selected statistic.
The By School view is available to district users only. Each selected Profile Group will display under its own heading, with each subgroup listed underneath. Each subgroup is further split into each school site. If there are many schools listed, part of the list will display, with the option to select the More... button to view the rest of the schools and their associated data. Each school listing displays the demographic subgroup number and percentage of students tested, average raw score, average percent correct, and the number and percent of students in each performance category, dependent on the selected threshold view. Select any blue link text to view the list of students that make up the selected statistic.
The By Grade view is available to district and school users only. Each selected Profile Group will display under its own heading, with each subgroup listed underneath. Each subgroup is further split into each grade, if more than one has taken the same assessment. Each grade listing displays the demographic subgroup number and percentage of students tested, average raw score, average percent correct, and the number and percent of students in each performance category, dependent on the selected threshold view. The By Teacher view is available to district and school users only. Each selected Profile Group will display under its own heading, with each subgroup listed underneath. Each subgroup is further split into each teacher. If there are many teachers listed, part of the list will display, with the option to select the More... button to view the rest of the teachers and their associated data. Each teacher listing displays the demographic subgroup number and percentage of students tested, average raw score, average percent correct, and the number and percent of students in each performance category, dependent on the selected threshold view. Select any blue link text to view the list of students that make up the selected statistic.
View by Performance Levels, Proficient/Not Proficient, or Performance Bands
The By Performance Levels view is automatically selected when viewing the Demographics Profile report. Performance Levels are selected by the assessment creator, and can be made custom or loaded from an existing district template. The chosen assessment Performance Level settings determine the Performance Level descriptors, cut points or percentages, color coding, and proficiency. Each selected Profile Group will display under its own heading, with each subgroup listed beneath, and can be further delineated, dependent on the selected grouping view. The right side of the report displays the number and percentage of students in the corresponding row that fall within each Performance Level. The Proficient/Not Proficient threshold is determined by the Standards Mastery Threshold. The Standards Mastery Threshold and color coding are set in District Defaults or My Preferences. Each selected Profile Group will display under its own heading, with each subgroup listed beneath, and can be further delineated, dependent on the selected grouping view. The right side of the report displays the number and percentage of students in the corresponding row that fall within the Proficient or Not Proficient category. The By Performance Bands view provides customizable percentage ranges that can be set and changed by the user viewing the report on the fly. Each selected Profile Group will display under its own heading, with each subgroup listed beneath, and can be further delineated, dependent on the selected grouping view. - The Performance Bands are automatically set to greater than or equal to 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90%.
- To alter the percentage number of the Performance Bands, type the desired number into the desired band field.
- To alter which group of students is being examined, either above or below the selected percentage point, select the dropdown next to the desired band field. Select the symbol for greater than or equal to, or less than or equal to.
- Select Apply.
