The Student Portal is the User Interface used by students to take online assessments and surveys. There are a variety of tools that may be available for an assessment. Available tools are determined by the Test Administrator and/or the Test Creator.
Additionally, some tools may be enabled as part of the item definition. The Test Administrator and/or the Test Creator may permit an override of these settings or enable the item specific tools. Applying and enabling an Accommodation Template and/or specific settings will also override the default Online Tool settings.
The selection of the tools available for students happens during assessment setup and/or assessment administration either directly through the Advanced tab on the Online Administration dashboard or from the Advanced Settings option.
Toolbox: Students select the toolbox icon to open it and and use the checkboxes to select the tools or calculator(s) they'd like to use. Uncheck a box to put the tool away. Then select Close. Students will need to select the tools again when they move to the next item.
